Orginal Post: Unlock Phone Bootloader---Android Root

Certain Android mobiles are locked with their bootloader. Once bootloader is locked, you can not root or flash new ROM. Thus, we launched Unlock Phone. Unlock Phone is the simplest and safest software to help you unlocking the bootloader. The whole process would take some time, please wait patient untill it finally complete. Before unlocking your phone, please read the following information carefully.

HTC Bootloader Unlocking

HTC mobiles are locked with bootloader when they launched to market. With this factory setting, you can not flash recovery, radio, kernel or root it, flash new ROM. Therefore, if you want to control your phone completely, then you need to unlock bootloader first.
You need to know that bootloader is different from root. If you have unlocked bootloader, then you can flash recovery through bootloader or root with Unlock Root. After root or flash new ROM, you are free to optimize your phone.
You also need to know that not all claims resulting or caused by or from the unlocking of the bootloader may be covered under warranty. Unlocking your bootloader does not mean that you will be able to unlock the SIM lock. Unlocking your SIM lock is at the discretion of your operator/carrier and is not part of the bootloader unlocking scope.
Please note that HTC is impossible to ensure the proper functioning of your device after unlocking the bootloader. Some content on your device may also be invalidated and cannot be accessed any more because of invalid DRM security keys.
Certain models with specific restrictions may not be able to be unlocked. Unlock Phone will check whether your phone is supported before unlocking bootloader.
If you understand the consequences both to your device and to your warranty, then you may read the Manual and begin to unlock your phone.

Sony Bootloader Unlocking
As one of the most popular mobile manufacturers, most Sony mobiles are locked with bootloader with factory setting. We have therefore made it possible to unlock the bootloader for certain releases of Sony mobiles. Unlocking the bootloader allows you to put custom ROMs on your phone.

However, even if the phone model is supported, certain releases of the phone model may not be supported due to operator restrictions. Please note that you may void the warranty of your phone and/or any warranty from your operator if you unlock the bootloader.

Check whether your phone is allowed to unlock

Press dial key into dialing interface, enter *#*#7378423#*#* into Engineering Mode. Go to Service info-> Configuration-> Rooting status. If it shows: Bootloader unlocked: Yes, then this phone is allowed to unlocked.

Additionally, due to the modified phone software, Sony’s repair network will likely have to replace key components before it can properly test, repair and verify your phone using our repair tools and software. Consequently, if Sony performs a warranty repair, Sony will likely charge you a significant service fee for the additional costs caused by your modification of the software.
Sony can no longer guarantee the full functionality of your phone, and will not be responsible for any unsigned custom software being flashed to the phone after the bootloader is unlocked. Certain functions in your phone might cease to work, and performance might not be ideal.
You should be aware that unlocking the bootloader will not give you root access. The only way to get root access is to root your phone or flash a custom ROM with root access.
If you are fully aware of the risks involved, understand the consequences both to your device and to your warranty, and have a deep knowledge about these technologies, then you may read the Manual and begin to unlock your phone.

Certain models with specific restrictions may not be able to be unlocked. Unlock Phone will check whether your phone is supported before unlocking bootloader.

If you understand the consequences both to your device and to your warranty, then you may read the Manual and begin to unlock your phone.
